Here’s an on-board video of Toshihiko Suzuki’s fastest lap at last weekends World Time Attack Championship in his Scorch Racing S15, setting an impressive 1:31.456.
An incredibly quick time considering the event winner, the Cyber Evo, set a 1:28.851.

Grip S-chassis never get old. I’ve previously written about a FLAT Garage member in the ORANGE S14, here’s the silver S14A K’s Silvia. Both members run a highly detailed blog of their setups and experiences in time attack and circuit racing, their passion towards improving their cars is a real inspiration. The K’s S14A runs a Trust T518Z turboed SR20DET producing just over 400ps. The transmission is a Nismo cross 6-speed transmission, and interestingly he uses the final drive of 3.916 from the AT model (3.692 MT SR20). A spec list can be found here.

Looking good, Suzuki-san. At it’s first event with the new areo it managed a 55.790, I truly can’t wait to see what this thing is capable of. You can follow Scorch Racing here, スコーチ作業日記.

Here’s a purposeful Time Attack S14 recently shown off at SEMA. Super Street featured the car a couple of years ago and I’m pleased it’s still running and updated.

The “SPEC” Blue is simply stunning, nice to see such a clean grip S14 as they’re so hard to come by especially in the zenki arrangement. Neat looking splittler. Power is manufactured by a SR20DET.

Chunky.

Under Suzuki’s Devil S15

If there is one car out there that really gives hope to all us privateers it has to be Under Suzuki’s Silvia S15. His car has been featured on a few sites but with good reason. This is no ordinay S-chassis, this is a 55 second car round Tsukuba.

If there was anything unnecessary on the car you know it would have been removed and almost everything that can be made lighter has been, bringing the total weight down to an astounding 1050kg. By the looks of it, he plans on making everything he possibly can out of Carbon.

Despite the all function approach it still looks damn awesome.

A lot of aero work, strictly performance based, has been carried out. Stock fenders have been spaced out, wooden splitter and a rather large GT wing. I’ve read through his blog a few times (translated naturally) and it’s quite amazing how much detail he puts into every component for improvement.

Power comes from a variable valve timing SR20, the VET. Tuned to develop 680hp.

Proof. 55.563. Only a handful of companies have ventured this low.

What a car, what an achievement.
