Franciacorta Evening 25.08.10
September 3, 2010
During the summer Franciacorta holds track days in the evening from 6:00 pm onwards and they don’t stop until around 9:30 when the sun has set. I headed down there to meet some fellow JDM Club Italy members and to see what these night sessions are like.
Looks like an ordinary T23 Celica…
… then you see the A048s and Wilwood brakes. This is the surprising thing with most cars here, this particular car belongs to a JCI member and his friends Celica is right behind in the previous photo.
Those sticky tires must work wonders.
Parked right next to the two Celicas was a pair of nice Integra Type-Rs, a rare car here in Italy:
More semi-slick goodness but this time on some beautiful TE37s.
Notice the little bunny running.
There is always a big Lotus showing here, this is the first time I’d seen the 260 Cup version, the styling is very nice and it’s pretty rapid.
Purposeful, extinguisher system as standard.
It’s the first time I don’t shoot in Manual mode, I decided to try out some of the features on the camera and shoot in A and S priority modes. Yes it made things a lot easier with varying light conditions but a lot of the photos came out quite dark, maybe I was using the wrong metering mode.
Another first for me, I’m a bit behind.
Before the street car sessions began the afternoon was dedicated to racing cars, I got there as they were finishing up but got to see some running.
Franciacorta is a bike track.
Random track action, plenty of Caterhams there.
The Clio that could.
Looks like a handful.
Shooting through a little gap in the fence of cars breaking hard is addicting.
Mhhh Scuderia, ecstatic sound.
Over doing things.
Great power out of a spin…
More endless photos to come…
